I seem to recall that an early implementation of Storm Technology's JPEG
software (maybe it also required their hardware board to implement) offered
an allegedly lossless setting, but it was dropped from later versions. Not
sure if it truly met the definition of lossless ... depending on what one's
definition is, of course: actual loss or visible loss.
