    I've been looking at IrfanView a freeware program for viewing images that can identify images without extensions, open images very quickly, open a wide variety of images AND will produce thumbnail collections that can be written as a single image page or as html with individual thumbs. When output as html each thumbnail (user chooses size) is hot-linked to the original image. This looks like a very promising program, though I think I detected a bug in its delete image function.

    Nonetheless I have one example of its output to show. One problem is that you can't arrange the array of images on the page within the output table. To overcome this limitation I added a prefix to each filename that will sort properly for the table chosen. What you'll see is not IrfanView's raw output; however I've used the thumbnail table as the core of an experimental application, as you can see if you access
