Library and Information Technology Association Optical Information Systems Interest Group Presents: Practical Optical: Successful Imaging Projects Revealed Saturday, June 24, 1995, 9:30am - 11:00am Palmer House - Wabash Room Speakers: Stuart Glogoff, Assistant Dean, Library Information Systems, University of Arizona, Photo Synthesis: Elements to Creating an Image Database" Robert MacKimmie, Curatorial Director of Photography, California State Historical Society, "Deploying Bleeding Edge Technology Wihout Personal Injury -- And Loving It" Robert Henneberger, Computer Services/Preservation Services, Universityof Georgia Libraries, "Libraries and the Information Highway: Pavers or Road Kill; The University of Georgia Experience" Pat Stevens, OCLC, "Image Databases in Today's Networked Environment: Report on a Joint Project of OCLC and the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC)" Presenters will review the nuts and bolts issues surrounding the implementation of successful imaging projects including finding, hardware, software, access and networking. Following the general presentation, panelists will be available for small group Q&A and will provide demonstrations of the projects.
