Hello fellow IMAGELIB-ers !

I'm posting this message asking for feedback from people who handle image databases.

I would like to know what process was followed to transfer the physical photo archive to the electronic database. I realize that the immediate answer to that is by scanning. Has anyone used digital camera? Or anything else (that I can't think of).

My second question is about storage media. Where are the scanned images usually kept? Hard disks, CD-ROMs, magneto-opticals, Photo-CD, Jukeboxes,RAIDs - I would appreciate any experienced comments.

The system I have runs on Macintosh, and the program has the ability to create and use thumbnails of the original images. So I could have them stored in not so fast or "on line" volumes (ie removable cartridges).

E-mail me privately - let's not clutter the list please.

TIA

Best regards,
