The only reason I could imagine your not mentioning the name of the vendor would be it you had signed a non-disclosure agreement with the vendor. Otherwise, I think it would be informative to hear about anyone's experience with any vendor. In this arena, there are only a very few vendors: Mekel (integrated by Amitech), Sunrise and Lenzar to list most of them. There are a couple more who primarily do aperture card scanning. In my opinion, it is good to find ways to keep vendors honest (i.e. not try to sell vaporware) and sharing experiences, both good and bad, helps to accomplish this.
