Maureen,
The new Sony 1292 Data Projector is superb, however it does come at a
price.  'LCD's are certainly fast developing and will catch up (unless, of
course, some other technology is invented in the meantime), but the
'industry' word has it that the 1292 is still well in front!  Presently, I
have LCD salesmen in awe of the Sony 1292 and keen to see it beaten in the
large lecture theatre.
In the small tutorial room situation, if we are KEEN to embrace the new
technology, we are either happy to accept LCDs (and they are pretty good)
or we wait for further developments.
