Greetings - the Library of Virginia has digitized more than 1.5 million catalog cards over the past 2 years. The images of these cards, plus the indexes we created, can be viewed at our Digital Library website (http://image.vtls.com).The cards varied in terms of quality (some were typed, some were handwritten in ink or fading pencil). Some were p-slips, others were crumbling to dust.
We are very pleased with the results of our project and it has enabled us to open up access to all of these finding aids that heretofore was restricted to those individuals who could physically visit our library.
According to Louis H. Sharpe II: >
