ART MUSEUM POSITION
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR of IMAGING DEPARTMENT


The Art Institute of Chicago seeks individual to manage staff for
departmental systems:  archives of negatives, transparencies and master
slide file; computer documentation of photo records, image copyright unit
and the scheduling and monitoring of museum photography.  Will update
procedure manuals, provide financial and budgetary reports.


Requires M.A. in art history, Museum Studies or M.L.S.; reading knowledge
of two foreign languages; knowledge of museum photography and photo
archives practices; familiarity with electronic imaging.  PC experience,
Excel desired. Expertise in museum copyright issues; minimum three years
management experience.  Knowledge of the most significant works of art in
each area of the Museum's collections as well as broad familiarity with
Museum publications.
