We purchased a FUJITSU M3096G Image Scanner for use with the Ariel
for Windows document transmission system. The scanner works very well
with this software package.

We now wish to use the scanner for another purpose, and we hoped to be able to run the scanner from within a WWW Browser, using relatively basic software, perhaps even a shareware product.

I would be grateful for any comments/information on the following: 1. The scanner came with no software or driver of any kind, and such things do not appear to exist. 2. Fujitsu does not appear to support the TWAIN standard. 3. The scanner does not appear to emulate or be compatible with any other scanner, eg the HP Scanjet. 4. The choices I have to get this to work are: 4.1 Buy a software package which supports this scanner - any suggestions? 4.2 Beg, borrow or buy a TWAIN driver someone else has already written for the Fujitsu M3096G 4.3 Pay someone to write one. 4.4 Write one myself.

If there is a better place to ask these questions, please let me know.
