Hi all! Some mounths ago I started asking all about clues to digitezes the public library newspapers. With the usefull help of many persons who were or are working in similar experiencies and our work we have the digitizetation and storage problems solved ( that's we believed :) ). But now we are "virtually" having all digital information in CD and now we are thinking on how to manage it. The total amount of CD to be recorded rise to 7000 or what's the same, more than 1 terabyte of digital image information.
Far from the applications to be used, we are discussing the platform to run over those. We are hardly thinking in using Unix and Linux. We'll build a network having two or more servers for data base and image manager and several machines where people could working having many possible applications to do such as browse or print till making his own CD.
Please, if anyone could help us with ideas, experiencies or everything usefull, let's me know. Many thanks in advance. Alejandro Delaygue
