Bob:

We are mostly concerned with archiving publications, and large digital image displays that we may need to either retrieve and reprint, or rework at a later date. At present we would only be making one disc each of the data for backup. We are mostly concerned with this information taking up a large chunk of the server, and still being on volatile (magnetic) media.

Does that make the question easier to answer?

The blank media costs around $10 per disk, the recorder costs between $3000 and $5000. Depending on how many you want to make, $125 could be a good or a bad deal.
