I have a Microtek Scanmaker III that uses a Twain interface with Adobe
Photoshop. Since the system was set up, it has never been right. First, there
was an incorrect file from Adobe, then an incorrect file from Microtek and now
disaster has struck and my motherboard (actually the ROM-BIOS) died yesterday.
This all began with an error window that stated the file Louisa.dll couldn't
be found. Then I would be thrown out of the scan mode and I would have to
reboot and start all over which would last about 15 scans. Slowly this would
erode to ten scans and then I would reinstall the Microtek file and it would be
good for 15 scans again. Well now that it has killed the computer I'd like to
know if anyone else has had this kind of problem and what should we do. We're
stumped and we're afraid to install a new board and have this happen again.
My boss is weeping on the floor as I type and I intend on joining her when I'm
done with this email. Can someone give us a clue as to what is happening and
how to eliminate this problem from our lives? Thanks
