The University of Georgia Libraries has embarked on a project to provide
Georgia government documents in digital form through the Internet.
Documents are scanned using a Xerox scanner (20 pages/minute, duplex).
Bibliographic data for each title is entered and indexed. Additional
indexed access is provided by portions of text from the documents which
are run through OCR software - all words in this text will point to the
record. Images of the pages are attached to the record, ranging from 2 to
1500 pages per record. We use OCLC software as the search engine
(SiteSearch). Our address is: http://www.galileo.peachnet.edu
Choose the GALILEO RESOURCES option, then the GOVERNMENT PUBLICATIONS
option. Other Galileo options are available only to Georgia
institutions. All comments are welcome. Thanks - Bob H.
