Does anyone have any recommendations for textbooks or similar sources that
cover digital imaging theory and practice? Looking for elements like
scanning, digital cameras, color technology (matching, process color,
etc.), image manipulation, printing technology (screens, halftones,
separations, etc.), monitor technology (calibration, balance, gamma, white
points, etc.). The numerous big fat books on Photoshop cover a lot of this
ground -- I'm looking for something less specific to a product and more of
a generally balanced overview.
