Hello, all.
We're planning to scan and transcribe a large group of 19th century letters. Because we're taking the
time to transcribe these documents, it would be nice if search engines could pick up the full text
transcriptions. But because the online versions of the transcripts will be database driven, I don't think the
spiders will be able to pick them up. Is there a way to get around this? Is it possible to create static web
pages that are still database-driven? OAI may help with some of the discovery challenges, but I'm
looking for a way to reach less sophisticated users.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions or resources that might help me figure out if search engines can index
dynamic web pages.
Thanks in advance for your help.
