Kodak offers just such a product, based on Photo CD. Well, actually it is in a beta stage right now, but you can take advantage of it.
The product is essentially several thousand images on a disc, along with a database for them, and a search and display engine -- both Mac and PC -- all automatically on the disc. This has been referred to as "Catalog CD," but it's not clear how it will be named when it becomes final product. The important thing is not the name but the capability, right?
Authoring of these discs *is* available through a selected group of beta sites. You would bring your images (preferably on Photo CD) and database to the provider and they would cut the disc for a fee. They should have submission guidelines to make this easy. Once you have the disc, you can replicate it via standard CD stamping channels.
I don't have the list of beta sites in front of me, but I can certainly get it and post it. If you (or anyone) on the list expresses interest, I will do so.
