Is a library degree so low in value that we need union-like rules to protect it? Won't the free market determine what qualifications are required for a position?If an Engineer turns out to be a good librarian, so be it! Chances are that, in the year 2000, most library positions will still be filled by library degree holders - without any watchdog to enforce it!
