Hi Errol...I came into a project with the IBM equipment already purchased. The
main problem with PC's is vendor awareness of the needs of an imaging lab. The
salesman who set this lab up was not experienced with the demands imaging makes
on the memory of the PC.I have numerous shortcomings because of his lack of
knowlege. I would say a PC will run as well as a Mac if the system is set up
properly. Know what to get and get it. Lots of memory is essential...check
out Pinnacle's new Apex optical drive that is 4.6 gig per cartridge. It's a
scanner's dream for memory and not that expensive. But bottom line is good
information before you purchase and then a good systems person to set it up.
Good luck.
