I figured after my last message of color management I should introduce myself
:)

I spent fifteen years in the slide reproduction and image transfer industries. My industrial experience includes designing the color control systems used in digitally transferring the image libraries of National Geographics Society, Library of Congress, and the Institute of Health (among others) onto film and videodisk storage systems. I have a M.S. in Color Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and was staff scientist in the Munsell Color Science Laboratory at RIT. At Apple Computer, I was responsible for the color architecture in ColorSync 2.0, the color quality for Apple printers (including writing color management modules for Apple color inkjet printers) and was the original chairperson of the International Color Consortium (ICC) effort to standardize color issues in the industry. I joined HP Labs in August of 1994 in their Printing Technology Department and am currently working on advanced color management and reproduction issues.

We just purchased a ScanView 11000 and I'm more than a bit naive on the graphic arts end of things. I hope I can ask my naive scanner questions in this forum and possibly provide some insight into other issues I'm familiar with.
