The Preservation Department at the University of Chicago Library would like
to purchase a high resolution grayscale/color flatbed scanner that will
accommodate oversize material up to 11x17 inches. It will be used to scan
bound volumes with both text and illustrations for a preservation and access
project. We will be comparing such features as scan speed, image quality,
technical support from the company, and overall performance. We are
interested in receiving user feedback for any of the products listed below:

Horizon Plus/Ultra by Agfa Mirage D-16L by UMAX Pro Imager 8000 Plus by PixelCraft JX-610 by Sharp Scanmaster 2500 by Howteck Xerox DocuCS

Relysis and Fujitsu also make oversize scanners but I haven't identified the specific models yet.

Thanks
