Dear Image folks,

While the AMICO library (see http://www.amn.org/AMICO ) will be available only under license, members have agreed to make a limited amount of information available freely on the Web. The AMICO public catalogue will consist of 'thumbnail images' with a brief label text. Thus the reason for my question.

How do YOU define a thumbnail image? Pixel dimensions? Bit-depth? Utility?

I'll compile the answers and post the results.
