    <pre> Hi

I am new to the list, and after scanning the recent logfiles in the archives I don't see any discussion of the relative merits of the current batch of flatbed scanners.

I am in the process of setting up a digitizing project to scan b&w photographs from a newspaper collection. The collection spans 1962-1997. We will be scanning the prints rather than the negatives, but I want to research scanners that enable both reflective and transparancy scanning.

I am interested in hearing your recommendations, both in terms of the hardware, image quality etc, but also which vendors provide superior support.

    thanks for your help.
