Thanks to G.W. for bringing this interesting series of articles to general
attention, and to the Museum Computer Network for making them available to
download.
If you (like me) want to save paper and not download the chaff(= ads,
p.r.) with the wheat, tell your printer to print just the following .pdf
pages (which do not exactly correspond to the printed pages of the t.o.c.,
which seem irrelevant anyway, as there are no visible pages in the
printout). Your total printout will be reduced from 71 to 60 pages:
Print
.pdf
pages Contents
2-5 Front matter, editorial by G.W.
9-14 "Revealing History" (Koelling)
15-16 "Building a Digital Archive..." (Hernandez/Lilien)
17-21 "What are Digital Image Managers?" (Hastings)
23-27 "Light Exposure..." (Blackwell)
29-35 "Conservation issues..." (Lossau/Liebetruth)
37-43 "Produce, Publish, and Preserve..." (Waibel)
45-48 "Greenfield Digital Imaging Center..." (Mathias)
49-58 Two articles on color management (Long & Levy)
59-64 "Issues in Digital Archving" (Fraser)
65-68 "Content-Based Image Retrieval" (Venters/Cooper)
It feels good to save paper! Regards, - T.H.
