gzip for Mac can be found at the Info-Mac archive, which is located in
these places:
sumex-aim.stanford.edu directory info-mac
wuarchive.wustl.edu directory mirrors/info-mac
.. and many other mirrors

In the info-mac archive, gzip can be found as cmp/mac-gzip-022.hqx If you don't know what a .hqx file is, get the introduction help/accessing-files.txt.gz and read it first. Oh well, that is gnuzipped also.. mail me if you have difficulties.

Have a sunny day,
