For the Quadra / Macintosh, De-Babelizer is the de-facto standard for file conversion. I've used it before and thought that the interface could have been done a little bit better -- but it's certainly a good product nonetheless. De-Babelizer is moderately expensive. There is another graphics file conversion product available for the Macintosh that does not have the complex interface and price of De-Babelizer, but still supports a decent number of graphics file formats. The product is PICTureThis. It has a list price of about US$200.00, I believe. It is available from:

FGM, Inc. 131 Elden St., Suite 108, Herndon, VA 22070 telephone: (800) 783-7428

Image Alchemy for the Macintosh (and Windows, and Motif as well) has been a moving target of sorts. I heard that they were looking at releasing a GUI version of Image Alchemy at some point. Image Alchemy's heritage is in the UNIX world.
