NOTICE TO ALL SCHOOLS WITH DESIGN PROGRAMS

We are in the process of preparing the 4th edition of the International Directory of Design, and we are seeking your help to insure that our readers have accurate, up-to-date information about your design programs.
This year, we continue our commitment to present the broadest possible range of design education. No school with a design program, of any sort, will be intentionaly excluded.
Both paperback and hardbound editions will be published. The fourth edition will also be available on CD-ROM and include both e-mail addresses as well World Wide Web URLs for the home pages of these programs. The 3rd edition of the directory contained references to over 2,500 programs worldwide. ( 30% North America, 30% Europe, 40% rest of world )
In addition, a web site at: http://PenrosePress.com/idd.html should be up and running by the first of November. The site will contain both updates to the directory as well links to the home pages of the schools in the directory.
This CD will permit subscribers to interactively access the directory through their computers In addition to the information contained in the printed directory, this publication includes a database search engine capable of accessing the World Wide Web on Internet, as well as photographs illustrating student works at the various institutions. Every school may include 10 pictures on the disk, free of charge This is an annual publication, you should send approximately ten slides every year.
We need you to supply us with current information to insure the correctness of our data. Could you please inform all relevant departments that teach design, at your institution, of this publication? We need to establish continuing relations with representatives of these programs at your institution, and we would appreciate your help in establishing these contacts.
Please review the attached questionare for our database. We would very much appreciate your assistance in adding, correcting and revising our database. If you need a copy of our current records for your institution please send an e-mail letter to <mailto:lauzzana@netcom.com> with your request.
In addition to links to institutional home pages, one home page has been allocated, on the CD-ROM, for every design program in the directory. Space has been provided in this home page for administrative information (address, phone number, etc.), a school logo, a short descriptive text, and 10 photos of student works.
Finally, we have attached a current price-list for our related publications. We hope that you will be interested in ordering some of them. We do not accept credit card payments. However almost all other instruments are acceptable, ie. personal checks, IMOs, bank transfers, and we gladly accept UNESCO coupons in payment for any publications and services.
