I use a transparency adaptor for an HP ScanJet II cx. I
am very pleased with the scans 4X5 glass negs. No
different than 4X5 cellulose acetate negs. I believe the
II cx only has an optical resolution of 400 dpi. I have
scanned a 35mm glass slide but the resolution is not
high enough to provide a great image. I understand
the HP ScanJet III has an optical resolution of 600 dpi.

10/05/95 10:30am >>> Has anyone out there had any experiences, positive or negative, with transparency adaptors for scanners? We are in the process of purchasing a scanner, and I have been advised to look into getting a transparency adaptor as well, as it can be used to scan slides and negatives. My specific question to everyone on the list is can the adaptor be used to scan glass slides and glass negatives? We would be more than pleased if these two technologies were compatible. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
