Hi Stuart...I use Kurzweil by Xerox for OCR. It handles any number of western
languages. My scanner is four years old and still going strong. But in
addition Xerox still has free technical support the last time I used it. That
was about six months ago. I called the 800 number over a problem and he
walked me through it at no charge. After dealing with computer companies and
problems that is a plus worth thousands of dollars. Do give them a call.
