Hello Imagelib subscribersI am responsible for setting up the Image Services section of the National Library of New Zealand - with objectives for widening public access to heritage collection items and enhancing conservation of original items within the collections.
Currently we are offering a new digital copying service which includes digital photographs, laser copies, overhead transparencies and digital images on disk and syquest cartridge.
The next phase which we are now working on is the digital storage and management of heritage images for online access.
I have two questions - can anyone please offer any advice or suggestions re 1. Charging/pricing policies for digital images in terms of online services 2. Which standard format organisations are using for long term storage of mass heritage images - Kodak PCD, JPEG, or other.
Thank you for your help. Margaret Margaret Davidson Manager - Image Services Heritage Collections National Library of New Zealand E-mail:mailto:Margaret.Davidson@natlib.govt.nz
