Hi George! Here at the University of Arizona, we have been using a Kodak DC40 pretty extensively since June for WWW images. The colors are pretty accurate and it has given us no problem with regard to maintenance. We are still on our first set of lithium batteries! While it doesn't come with a telephoto lens, there is one available through DC-PRO (part #12285, $79.95), as well as a wide angle and a fish-eye. There are also a number of filters available.
While I haven't had any experience with the Chinon, I've been pretty satisfied with the performance the Kodak has given me. Sorry if this sounds like a commercial.
