I am new to this list so please excuse the naivete of the question.Does anyone have any advice or experiences they can pass on regarding hardware for scanning medium and large format negatives and transparencies? Is a specialized scanner such as the Kodak RFS 3570 perferable to a high quality flatbed with transparency adapter.
I am working with a large historical collection of photographs in the state of Chipapas in southern Mexico. Service here is next to impossible so reliability is a must. It is a medium sized collection of some 30,000 plus negatives and transparrencies so efficiency is also a consideration.
