Hi,

I had the problem of oversized pages (they were sheet music as well) a few years ago with a project I was involved with.

My solution was rather simple but effective.

The sheets I had were larger than 8x14 but less than 11x17. So I photocopied the sheets and had the copier reduce the image to fit on 8.5 x 11.

The quality was great and it scanned perfectly. Of course, you want to have a copier that is in good working order and that prints cleanly/

I have also scanned images from copies made on a laser copier which provide wonderfully crisp and high-quality reproductions (great for things like airphotos and some kinds of maps. Although I am not sure about this, I believe that some of the laser copiers will reduce images from sizes larger than 11x17 but you will want to call around to copy shops about this.

Of course, you are still limited in which size you can use, usually 11x17 but at least this catches alot more materials and is a low-cost, easy alternative than some of the other suggestions.

My .02 and YMMV...

regards,

-terry
