Luna Imaging, Inc. provides scanning services on an outsourced basis, and we
specialize in digitization of cultural heritage materials. We have also
placed personnel on site for large digitization projects (using our
equipment and staff, with removal upon completion) at institutions such as
the Museum of Modern Art, and soon to be at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Feel free to contact me directly for more information regarding pricing and
scheduling.
Sincerely,

Subject: Scanning contractors
I am trying to gather information on companies that provide scanning
contracting services. For example, rather than purchasing scanning
equipment we are considering leasing ... rather than hiring permanent people
to scan our collection we are considering contract personnel.
Has anyone taken this approach?
What companies are available?
What were the pros and cons?
If you do everything in-house how do you keep up with new scanning
technology?
How do you keep good scanning personnel?
Thank you so much for your help. I did not find anything in the archives
about this but if it has already been discussed please let me know and I
will take another look.
Thank you!
Anne
