Hi Everybody...I am not a hardware specialist so I have a question for those
of you who understand the internal workings of the computer. I have, what may
be, the last phase change optical drive in the USA. Actually I have three of
them and they work fine as a huge backup for my image files. My question
concerns pulling one from a 386 and installing it in one of my new 486 machines
Is it possible? Seems like a read a response a couple of months ago that
said it didn't work or wouldn't work very well. Before I find some computer
science graduate student to struggle with this, is there anyone who can tell
me if this will work or should I forget it and get a tape back-up to transfer
files from the 386 to the 486? Thanks for any input.
