To reply to the person who compared junk e-mail with junk paper mail:My junk paper mail seems to have a purpose, that is, someone is trying to sell me something. It is an annoyance, and I either just throw it away or stuff all the grocery store flyers into the return envelope, weigh it down with lead, and mail it back.
The purpose of these e-mail messages seems to be solely malicious, and because the sender isn't paying for postage, free. Someone claims to want to sell you something, but then doesn't want to leave an address where they can be contacted. The only purpose is to jam people's mailboxes. (And what about the person who really does want to be an Amway salesperson, but doesn't know how to go about it?)
