We are developing a text/multimedia database using client/server technololgy.
My biggest problem now is memory on the desktop. The client works in a windows
environment and our university uses a banyan vines network. The desktop pcs
have cd roms, sound cards...i.e. they are equiped for multimedia. The problem
is that the pc crashes when we use the client whether we bring up text or
images. Has anyone successfully dealt with this problem under banyan vines?
This is not a problem of ram (we have 16 on the machines) but rather that first
mb of memory. Advice would be appreciated.
