Just remembered that we declared our flatbed (full color) scan of a
large B&W contact negative a success because we needed only enough
information to decide how to crop the photo. Might work for flat films
of gross features - GI series, skeletal malformations, that sort of
thing. Obviously, it would not work for CT or MRI images of relatively
fine structures.
