We have a Microtek 9600XL but we have not been using the transprency adapter.....it does work well for 8x10 but be caref
l of whether the adapter will do a full 11x14 ...maybe yes, maybe no.   Will try to check but have many irons in the fir
 at present.

The Epson Expression 836XL could do the job with the transparancy adapter. Basic scanner is about $600; it's probably $500 for the transparency adapter. I assume that if you are reducing images for PowerPoint presentations, you aren't looking for a lot of definition. Personally, the thought of x-rays on a power point presentation sounds like taking a bunch of Sominex with a few swigs of bourbon, but I'm sure it appeals to someone.
