Has anyone had any experience--positive or negative--using solid-color
carpet tiles in a library setting? We are recarpeting, and I have found
a carpeting line, Synthesis II, by Networx, that has some solid
sheared-loop carpeting which I like very much. Because of the shearing
(some loops are cut and others are intact), the carpeting does not give a
completely solid-color effect (unlike plush carpeting). However, our
decor coordinator is concerned that the carpeting--which is an excellent
grade--will quickly show wear because of the solid color. Even though we
will be able to replace worn tiles (one of several reasons for choosing
tiles over roll carpeting), she says the difference may be noticeable. I
would like some feedback from library carpet users as to whether this
concern is a serious one. Please reply directly to me. (If I have
already talked to you in person about carpeting, not need to reply!)
Thanks very much for any help you can provide.
