College of Education, The Committee on the Promotion of Diversity,
and The School of Library and Informational Science present:
Robert Wedgeworth
President of the International Federation of Library Associations
University Librarian at the University of Illinois/Urbana-Champaign
& Former Executive Director of the American Library Association.
The lecture is entitled: "Research Libraries and the Net"
"Will library users become roadkill in the development of the Internet?"
Dr. Wedgeworth observes that just as the interstate highway system bypassed
small communities that were once on the main thoroughfares, the Internet
has the potential to bypass users.
