Position: Information Resource Consultant
The Lewis & Clark Library System, a multitype library system serving
over 150 libraries in south-central Illinois, is seeking applicants for the
position of Information Resource Consultant. The system provides consulting,
delivery, and technology support among its many services.
Under the administration of the Consulting Manager, the Information
Resource Consultant works towards the development and availability of
information resources and advancement of the skills of the membership in
utilizing these resources at the local library. The Information Resource
Consultant coordinates the development of the Continuing Education program.
Applicants should have a Masters degree in Information or Library
Science from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent degree in
education. Experience working in libraries or educational situations
preferred. A thorough knowledge of online searching, the Internet, and PCs is
needed. Knowledge of group dynamics and adult education skills also required.
Salary range is $30,000-$35,000, based on experience and education.
Position is open until a qualified candidate has been found.
