The St. Louis Public Library has an opening for a Librarian I in its Cataloging Unit.

Required: ALA MLS

Preferred: Thorough knowledge of bibliographic description sources, including AACR2, Dewey, LCSH, and MARC formats and their application in an OCLC cataloging environment. Music cataloging training and experience. Self-motivated. Effective oral and written communication skills. Leadership potential.

Responsiblities include: Perform original and copy cataloging of library materials in various formats in OCLC, particularly popular and classical music in cassette and CD formats. Direct workflow. Train staff. Document procedures. Monitor quality control of data input. Serve as professional resource person in cataloging specific formats.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and life isurance. Salary range: up to $33,458, commensurate with experience.
