I'm going to take a leap of faith and infer that the cross-posted messages in this thread are coming from the URC list, and that the charter referred to is the same as:

http://www.acl.lanl.gov/URC/charter.html

While cross-postings may be helpful in getting a new list going, I think a forwarded copy of the original posting with a little explanatory lead-in text would be helpful as we try to organize the universe of discourse, decide what belongs in this as opposed to other web-intersect-library lists, etc.

Do we need to talk about related lists?
