It can to the extent that WinSPIRS, Z39.50 clients such as WinPAC, and other types of programs can be called from Web pages if the client machines are configured correctly. The new version of WinSPIRS (2.x) can be pointed at specific databases on an ERL server by using the volume label as a parameter.
