    Renato, is there any way to maintain the updates to URN's?  Will they
    change as much as URL's?

I maintain there must be partnerships between systems people and librarians, for the art of librarianship to become cybrarianship.

I think the time has come for such discussion and action in the library industry.

Correct. You should use an identifier (ie URN). Then you can resolve the identifer to find the (many) locations of items in your system.
