We have 3 questions on cataloging policy and practice in special
libraries. We would appreciate your comments and insights.

1. Does anyone know of a special library, particularly pharmaceutical, where cataloging is NOT done -- or where minimal cataloging only is done? What impact has this practice had? What problems, if any, have arisen? Has time/effort saved outweighed difficulties?

2. Are any of you outsourcing cataloging? Again, what impact has this practice had, especially on your knowledge of your own collection?

3. If you are in an organization with multisite libraries, and have experience or knowledge of CENTRAL SITE ONLY cataloging, what have been the impacts -- including your knowledge of your own collection?

Thank you.
