Actually, the mail message did not originate on AOL. I received the same mail message for another mailing list that I moderate, and the headers show the message came from NETCOM.COM, not AOL. In some ways, it was a rather clever forgery, but the "Received:" lines never lie. The original "Recieved:" headers were not duplicated through the WEBCAT-L LISTSERV software, so it is difficult to tell from the distributed message that it did not come from AOL.COM.
