HelloApologies for any cross-posting.
I work for a public library. We are considering offering public access computers for desktop publishing. Aside from the obvious security problems, and the fact that we get daily requests for this service, we are wondering *why* or *why not* we should offer this service. It seems like a good idea, but does not fall into any other category of service offered by the library. And, in fact, would be in direct competition with the local computer service store that has computers for rent for this purpose.
We do have a few typewriters available for patrons, and I suppose what I have in mind is just the modern version of that equipment, but I need a way of keeping the store owners on our side.
Do you offer dtp services? How do you justify this service?
Thanks much for any input
