Sorry about that junk mail message that just came through.  Posting to
this list is supposed to be limited to subscribers, but I've had a rash of
bogus subscriptions springing up as fast as I can delete them, over the
past weekend.  Apparently, there is a new phenomenon of bulk e-mail
services going out and rounding up lists of listservs and subscribing to
them in order to get their messages through.  Undoubtedly, these people
have protected themselves against mail bombs and letters to the apparent
sender's postmaster.  So it remains to be seen how we can make this type
of abuse expensive.
